Cream Ale is a hybrid Ale/Larger. It can be primary fermented with ale yeast and largered with larger yeast. This recipe will use ale yeast try to ferment it on the cool side.


In a medium pot bring 1/2 gal of water to a 168 degrees. Add 1lb flaked corn and ½ lb 6 row malted barley. Hold at 160 degrees for 15 min.

In the brew pot bring 1 gal of water to a boil. Add 6.6 lbs. light malt extract

Spage the grains and collect the runnings in the brewpot

Boil with 1 1/2 oz Hallertauer Hops 40 mins

Add 1-TSP Irish moss and 1/2 oz Hallertauer hops for an additional 5 mins.

Add to water in carboy, cool, add yeast

Ferment as cool as practical
